Bollywood came to Tameside for the Civic Mayor’s charity ball at Dukinfield Town Hall on Saturday, March 2.

Entertainment was provided by the multi-award-winning Ri Ri’s Dance Academy; Dhol Drummers and pioneer of UK Bhangra music, Joga Singh; and the menu featured authentic Indian food (including vegetarian option) as well as a more traditional choice.

The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Tafheen Sharif, said: “Bringing Tameside’s communities together is something that means a great deal to me.”
The Civic Mayor’s charity appeal fund comprises Home-Start (HOST), which offers expert support to families with young children that are going through difficult times; West African Development, which helps ethnic minority communities in Tameside, and Pauline Town’s We Shall Overcome, which provides assistance for the homeless.
