It’s Open Farm Sunday on June 7th which is a fabulous opportunity to connect farmers and the public to discover the crucial work farmers do producing food, nurturing nature, and protecting the environment for future generations.
The team at Oak Farm in Matley will be welcoming visitors to see animals, farm equipment and learn more about the farm processes. Farmer Stephen Sherratt is happy to explain the incredible work which goes into the farm and how byproducts are reused for cattle feed and recycled in other ways. The event will display equipment, demonstrate sheepdog work and sheep shearing plus an opportunity to see cows, sheep and other animals up close. The farm has a range of products on sale including fresh raw milk, ice cream, butter and a range of flavoured milkshakes.
