On Friday 16th September the Reverend Daniel Ramble, Area Dean from Oldham and Ashton lead the Ashton-under-Lyne War Memorial Centenary. He was joined by the Reverend Pat Lodge, the Reverend Sheila Cant along with children from St Peters Primary School, St James Primary School, Canon Burrows primary School and Parochial School.  The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Mike Glover, also spoke at the service and children also participated in the main “Act of Remembrance”.

The service also recognised the passing of Queen Elisabeth II and included a rendition of God Save The King.
