Ashton Central Mosque hosted a ‘Taste Ramadan’ event on Sunday March 16th. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. The Mosque invited families and people from the local community to explore the mosque and learn about their faith. The visitors, some of which had lived locally for 10 or more years, had never visited the mosque previously and it gave them a taste of Muslim life and what Ramadan means. The successful event came to an end with prayers by the Imam, Ghulam Moyhuddin, and a meal. On April 6th the Ashton Central Mosque will be hosting their annual fun day event from 1pm with bouncy castle, stalls, food and much more.
