After a hugely successful return of Party In The Park last summer, under the new banner of Hyde Mela, the organisers hope to build on it this year. Volunteers from all parts of the Hyde community are bringing the multicultural party back for it’s second outing.

In 2021 around 3,000  people attended the inaugural outdoor event, despite the pandemic being an ever-presen spectre, which threatened to wreck months of planning. This year planning is already well underway, with Covid hopefully, finally under control.

Once again,  the event will feature local performers, from bands and singers to dance acts, who represent different parts of the town’s diverse community. There will also be more choices of rides for the children, as well as a greater number of stalls selling refreshments and artisan items.  Mela  is an Asian term for a market with entertainment and this is Hyde’s very own.  The  event takes place on Saturday 28th August, a bank holiday weekend. Entry to the event will be free, with everyone being invited to attend and join the party.

Details  will be advertised soon on who to contact if you want a stall for your business or wish to support with a raffle prize or by sponsorship. Banners will be displayed around the town leading up to the event, which sponsors can pay to have their logos on. For more details contact the Hyde Mela team on 07798921288.
