Hyde Fundraisers made their full debut back fundraising again with their appearance at Hyde Artisan Market. The group, established back in 1985, brought an amazing array of characters along to the town to celebrate the world of sci-fi.

Davros, creator of the Daleks, was on hand looking for converts and beaming in from the enterprise a couple of Starfleet officers were seen on patrol. Marvel fans were delighted to see Captain America come along to meet children in the town centre. Star Wars fans could get up close to the Emperor and one of the Stormtroopers too.  But it wasn’t just characters – Time Tunnel collectables and other dealers were on hand with all manner of sci-fi goodies to buy along with a display by Andy Crombie. Cancer Warriors also joined the Artisan Market traders to raise funds with their Teddy Tombola.

Inside Clarendon Square Shopping Centre, sculptor Ray Phillips displayed his talents as he worked on a new project and brought along some of his other creations. Prop and model maker Kevin Davies also had super computer ORAC from Blakes 7 that he created along with some of his other fantastic models. Presentation certificates were given to Kevin Davies and Stefan Dean along with former fundraisers Jan Southgate and Chrissy Holsgrove.

Hyde Fundraisers wish to thank Tameside Markets for all their support and the Management at Clarendon Square for use of the shop unit.
