Film crews descended onto Ashton town centre for two days this week, Sunday and Monday, with the action centred around Market Avenue. In particular Argenti Jewellers was given a makeover to become Bentham’s jewellers for the ITV drama Ridley currently filming its second series.  The star of the series, Adrian Dunbar – well known from Line Of Duty, recorded scenes on the Monday relating to a robbery.

On the Sunday the avenue was closed off to record some high octane stunt work involving motorbikes making a getaway.  Ashton has previously been utilized for location filming for series such as Ridley Road,  Band Of Gold, Coronation Street,  Stay Close, Cobra along with Scott & Bailey.
