Excitement is building in Tameside as StalyFest is fast approaching. The two-day music festival features household name acts and will bring something new and exciting to an area that has a reputation for being sleepy.
Taking place at Bower Fold, the iconic home of Stalybridge Celtic FC, tickets are now on sale and full details of the line-ups and ticket arrangements can be found at www.stalyfest.co.uk.
Paul Bowden, co-owner of the football club says that “Bringing the festival to Stalybridge is exciting for everyone connected to the club. The event will put the team and the town firmly on the map and bring in much needed revenue to us and the wider community. It’s simply going to be huge!”

Friday 9th May
On Friday Night, Stalyfest will recreate a banging club-scene with an event hosted by Danny B.
Majestic , who headlines, is perhaps best known for his remix of Boney M’s classic “Rasputin” and has been a huge name on the Club and dance scene over the last two decades.
Majestic is supported by both Ellie Sax – who tours with her saxophone at the biggest clubs all over the world – and StephaniB – whose mix of drumming and DJing is sure to create an amazing atmosphere in the heart of Tameside.
Further support comes from DJs Tristan Walsh, Chris J Frater, and Will Anthony.
Closing the night at the after-party we will have Tristan Walsh and Danny B to entertain those people who are lucky enough to secure tickets.
Saturday 10th May
On Saturday, Stalyfest brings a more traditional music festival feel. Our host, Tameside Radio’s Laura Beth, will be introducing our joint headliners Cast and Starsailor, and our exciting mix of supporting acts.
Cast – who have 2 Platinum albums alongside a host of top-10 singles – have hit the headlines in recent weeks, as they have been confirmed as one of the key support acts for the forthcoming Oasis reunion tour – playing at all 19 dates over the Summer.
Starsailor -who’s debut album also went Platinum – are currently celebrating 25 years of success with a number of events across the UK.
The key supports for Cast and Starsailor are Nigel Clark (from Dodgy), Oasis Supernova (an exciting Oasis tribute) and Chris Helme (from The Seahorses).
Further support comes from The Beatles Dub Club (a reggae/ska style Beatles DJ groove), The Rolling People (Stockport-based indie band), Cobain Jones (one of Stalybridge’s own), and Plastic Heart (alt-rock band from Manchester).
And we’re delighted to have Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets) entertaining the fortunate guests who secure tickets for the late-night “after party” when the festival winds down.
Charity & Community
Stalyfest is delighted to have named The Christie Charity as it’s charity partner for the event. Nigel Jones, the club Chairman explained that “virtually everyone in the region will know someone who has relied on the amazing Christie Hospital at a time of need, so we are so excited to name The Christie Charity as our partner for our first festival. We will be able to give the charity plenty of opportunities to share their profile alongside the Stalyfest brand and raise all important funds at the same time”.
As well as working with The Christie Charity, Stalyfest will aim to work with other community groups and local businesses to ensure that the whole town feels part of the buzz. Steve Dewsnip, Commercial Director, explained that “the Stalyfest brand will soon become ubiquitous across the region, providing the ideal outlet for our commercial sponsors to get significant exposure, and to be associated with an event that will get the whole of Tameside talking. With opportunities to suit all budgets, I’m looking forward to talk through the opportunities with any potential partners and can be contacted at steve.dewsnip@stalycelticfc.co.uk.”
