We are all acutely aware of the impact the pandemic has had on charities across the country with traditional fundraising a major casualty.  Tameside’s Marc Cox decided he wanted to do something to help those charities dealing with homelessness and people in need. His passion to raise funds has resulted in a charity bike ride with an initial target of raising £1000 each for charities The Trussell Trust foodbank charity, The Macari Foundation homeless centre and Barnabus, a Christian Homeless Charity, providing a lifeline to the homeless in Manchester for over 25 years.

Marc said; “I will be cycling from Gretna Green in Scotland to Land’s End Cornwall and cycling a total of 550 miles. There will be daily stories, videos and up to date content of my training. Then on the route, I will upload videos on daily basis as I travel the length of the country on my bike. I’m looking to cycle in May 2021 to help raise money for 3 incredibly worthy causes.

Any donation would be gratefully received to help make a huge difference to three amazing communities.”

Marc is already over 75% towards his initial target and hopes About Tameside readers will help him do even better. If you can help visit his Just Giving page to make a donation – https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/marc-cox-1?utm_term=3R8qD85w7
