Tameside Markets and Ashton Town Team have a special event to celebrate all things food and drink in Ashton town centre. For the month of Oktober they are encouraging shoppers to visit local bakers, cafes, take aways, restaurants and bars to support these independent businesses in the town centre. Oktoberfest is a special event taking place on Saturday 4^th between 11am and 2pm and there’s lots to enjoy. They have three musical performers appearing that day with Tom Stevenson, Ethan Booth and Natalie Ciufo. They will be around the Market Hall providing fabulous musical entertainment so keep a watch for these local performers.

The event is also welcoming good-time girls dinner ladies Freda and Rita to serve up a large dollop of foodie fun from their gorgeous gingham-clad serving trolley. There will also be a special display supported by the Tameside Local Studies & Archive Centre showcasing some of Ashton’s pubs of yesteryear – will you recognise any of them?
